When unknown paintings by Old Masters and well-known artists begin to appear around the world, only a few people dare to question their authenticity. As Sir Nigel, auction house chairman Sir John Hawsley, and retired Detective Chief Inspector James Beech discover, whistle-blowers are appreciated no more in the art world than elsewhere.
