Synopsis

After her son Michael’s fatal accident, Brigitte Weichmann’s life is falling apart at the seams. The pain, remorse and her need to understand what has happened drive her away from her husband Hans. In France, she travelled from town to town. Nowhere does she find peace—until she meets Christian in Dijon while attending a self-help group gathering. The enthusiastic bookseller has been divorced for six months and is suffering badly from the separation from his alcoholic wife Sylvie.

The mismatched couple leave the meeting prematurely. The two become friends. He is thirteen years younger than her, emotional, a bookworm. She is a head person, reserved, unapproachable. Can they build a life together when loss is the only thing that holds them together? And what will Christian do when Sylvie suddenly reappears?
