Synopsis

“Operation Ice Breaker” is the second Mac McDowell Mission. It is a first-person account of the nuclear submarine “USS Teuthis” and a team of saturation divers led by Mac McDowell facing death under the Arctic ice pack while laying SOSUS arrays off Carey Øer west of Northern Greenland and Point Hope, north of Bering Strait. They face polar bears, Greenland sharks, Orcas and other hungry marine critters, extreme weather and heavy ice supplied by Mother Nature, and the efforts of two ultra-modern Soviet nuclear submarines attempting to thwart their mission.
