Synopsis

Hiding her shame, hating her wealth, and terrified of marriage, Eva was not expecting the Spanish Inquisition. The brutal tribunal has just descended on Granada, a city of Arabian-nights mystery, Anda-lusian culture—and forced ‘converts’.
Enslaved as a crypto-Jew, Eva is assigned to a man whose reputation is as terrible as his scars. While she grapples with terrifying flashbacks, her loyal cat blesses the reluctant male’s pillow with stealthy gifts of half-eaten mice. Tabita hopes that the pair will be encouraged to produce a human kitten. How could a cat understand that for both of these humans the cost of intimacy is ruinous?
