Synopsis

Kristina and her brethren are teachers of literacy, Christian pacifists, reformers who travel in small secret groups to liberate others. The church-state hunts them as radicals and heretics, condemning their teachings and pacifism as a threat to the recruitment of armies. With their underground printing press, Kristina’s small cell of brethren idealists teach literacy to Villeins in secret. Bonds of comradeship bring feelings of love.
