Rebecca Vorkapich

Award-winning Middle Grade Author

About Rebecca Vorkapich

Much like the children in Rebecca’s debut middle-grade novel, THE CHILDREN OF HORSESHOE HIDEOUT, she was born in a small town in southeast Iowa on the banks of the Mississippi. She spent nearly twenty years in sunny Phoenix, AZ, designing and programming systems for the airline industry, but eventually returned to the shady comfort of her hometown where she writes and illustrates children’s books, paints, throws pottery and sometimes dabbles in stained glass. She is the mother of sons, Matthew and Bryan, and grandmother to Natalie, Liam, Brittany and Brianna.

THE CHILDREN OF HORSESHOE HIDEOUT was honored with a B.R.A.G. Medallion, was named a Book of the Year Finalist by the Independent Author Network, and received a silver medal from The Wishing Shelf book awards hosted in the U.K.

Rebecca released book two of her series, THE CHILDREN OF HORSESHOE HIDEOUT in FAMILY TREES, October 2021. It has since been awarded a B.R.A.G. Medallion.

MYSTERY AT TURTLE LAKE is book three of the series, released November 2022 and has recently been awarded a B.R.A.G. Medallion.
