About Christopher and Michael Dack


Christopher Dack graduated from the University of Michigan and then earned a Master’s in English from Eastern Michigan University.
He has published more than 40 feature articles on writing,  photography, cinematography, and computer science for such publications as Mac|Life, Shutterbug, Digital Photographer, and Writer’s Digest.  He also photographed and co-authored the coffee table book Wings: An Illustrated Celebration of Michigan Wolverine Helmets (wolverinehelmet.com) with brother James Dack.

He counts as creative influences Robert Pirsig, Trevanian, Peter Weir, David Fincher, Stanley Kubrick, Roald Dahl, and Dr. Suess.

Bloody Mary is his first novel.

Michael Dack studied creative writing with National Book Award winner Jaime Gordon at Western Michigan University before graduating from Spring Arbor University.

He has published short fiction in Farscape and counts as creative influences Annie Proulx, Orson Scott Card, Christopher Nolan, the Coen Brothers, and Peter Weir.

Together, the Dack Brothers have penned multiple screenplays which have been honored by the Nicholl Fellowship as well as the Slamdance and Austin Film Festival screenwriting competitions.  In 2003, they co-wrote and co-directed the independent thriller Sleep (imdb.com/title/tt0359992) which went on to become an award winner at the East Lansing Film Festival.

Bloody Mary is his first novel.
