About V K McGivney

Veronica McGivney spent her childhood in a small seaside resort on the Isle of Wight where, like many other local residents, her mother ran a guest house for holidaymakers during the summer months. She now lives in Brighton in the south of England.
After leaving school, where her main claims to fame were persistent truanting and producing caricatures of the teaching staff, she studied modern languages then spent several years in France and gained a doctorate in French literature. She subsequently had lecturing and research posts at the Open University, the University of Sussex, and Nairobi University in Kenya where she and her family spent three happy years. After returning to England she became a principal research officer at the National Institute of Adult and Continuing Education. In 2007 she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Open University for service to education.
Veronica now concentrates on her first love – writing fiction. Aftermath of a Murder was her first published novel, followed by Inheritors of the New Kingdom and A Reluctant Hero, all available on Amazon. She has been short-listed for several short story awards and her book of short stories , Ghosts Resolution and Revenge, was published in 2017.
