About Susan Spieth

Originally from New Hampshire, Susan I Spieth entered the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1981. She graduated and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1985. After serving five years in the Army as a Missile Maintenance Officer, she earned a Master of Divinity degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in 1994. She served in the East Ohio and Tennessee Conferences of the United Methodist Church for seventeen years. From 2011 through 2019, Susan authored and published the Gray Girl Series, realistic fiction drawn from her years at West Point when women were newly admitted to the service academies. The book series has received numerous awards. In 2020, Susan published another book called, I Was A Stranger-Reflections from First-Time Visits to 50 Churches. Susan is married to Bob Spieth and they have two adult children.
